Recording every trade and what you were thinking, so you can see what actually works.
What it is
A trading journal records each trade's numbers (entry, stop, target, result) and its context: the setup, why you took it, how you felt, and whether you followed your rules. Over time it shows which setups, times and habits make or lose money.
How to spot it
- Patterns you'd never notice trade by trade: a session you lose in, a setup that underperforms, a mood that leads to bad trades.
How to use it
- Log every trade, including the bad ones, with a screenshot and a short thesis and review.
- In UNFLD, the journal works out R:R from your levels, lets you grade trades A, B or C and tag emotions, and Analytics breaks results down by setup, day and hour.
- Review weekly: keep doing what works, cut what doesn't.
Common mistakes
- Only journaling the winners.
- Collecting data and never reviewing it.
