Chart patterns
A very strong flag: price nearly doubles quickly, then rests in a tight, shallow pause.
In Bulkowski's definition, a high and tight flag needs price to rise roughly 90% or more in under two months, then pause in a tight flag that gives back only a small part of the move. In his daily stock data it is the best-performing pattern for upward breakouts, but it is rare.
On intraday futures or forex the same idea appears in smaller form: a very fast leg followed by a pause that barely retraces.
